Chincha panaka-a summer drink!!!

This is the time where the intensity of heat is very high and all the people are going behind cool drinks like coke which may be a temporory relief from heat and thirst but is harmful to the body.

There are many references in our classical texts about summer drinks that can reduce thirst and even healthier. One such drink is chincha panaka.

Ingredients:
Chincha(tamarind)-20 gms
water- 120 ml
Sugar-40 gms
salt-for taste
fried jeeraka (cumin seed)powder- 2 gms
fried pepper powder-1 gm

Method of preparation:
The ripe tamarind has to be soaked in water after removing the seeds for 1 to 2 hrs.
Later it is macerated well and the liquid part is filtered. To the filtrate powders of remaing ingredients are added and mixed well.

Dosage:96 ml is the general dosage.

Uses:This drink is useful in indigestion, thirst and is a good appetizer.
